The Old Lady

Standing staring sadly out the window

Young kids playing with laughter.

The old lady is thinking all about when she was a child.

She is left alone without her husband because he died, also children married left to live with their husband or wife.

Age has wrinkled her skin making it bright yellow

Glasses needed now because of oldness

Now her hair is white and used to be blonde.

She thinks about one day she’s going to die like her husband, never going to be seen again

What will she do?

The Old Lady

Skin as crinkley as sandpaper, waiting and staring at the skateboarding and riding bikes

Sighing I wish I could see my grandchildren again

Hair as white as plain paper, once blond as gold

Wasting her time gazing out the window wishing and dreaming  she was young again

What was she going to do?

The old lady

Sitting gazing sadly out the window

Her eyesight has blurred so its time for glasses

First her hair was pitch black but poof her hair turned grey

Baggy, wrinkled, sandy like sandpaper and skin turned yellow

She is feeling sad, lonely and forgotten

She could be remembering her life as a child

She might be having a minute silence to remember her husband that died in the war.

The Old Lady

The old lady sits watching, waiting, memories crashing like waves through her mind

As she watches and  waits, her skin has become pale and covered in wrinkles.

Her hair cloud white, once black as soot

Dressed in pyjamas and a coat, she’s not too happy, thinking how did I grow so old?

Where is the fun I used to share?

What will I ever do?

Agricultural Day

On the same day as the children brought along their animals for Agricultural day the rest of the middle school students created sand saucers, vegetable animals and miniature gardens. When we had finished our own work we went to other classes to see what they had done.  There were a lot of amazing creations.

Agricultural Day

Congratulations to all the children who participated in AG Day last Friday.  The weather held out for the great turnout of calves, lambs, and kids.

Some of the events were an obstacle course, grooming, and a calling course.  Here are some of the entries, Cody and his pet lamb called Shawn.  His breed is unique as it doesn’t have to be shorn.  Lucas, competed with his lamb, Smudge.  Dylan brought his pet calf Splash, his sister Alisha her calf, Peaches.  Carys brought in her pet calf, Red.  This was her first attempt at the competition, well done.  Shekinah and her pet kid MieMie.  Ella and her calf, Alice.  Janna and her calf Bella.  Dan with his lamb Molly, and Alex and her pet lamb, Puddles.  Well done.

A big thank you to all the organisers and judges.

We were visited by The Steamers mascot. Good luck for the game this weekend.Yesterday we went to the back field to play Ripper Rugby. We learnt the rules of the game and how to play as a team, fairly and supportive. It was good fun and cannot wait to play again.

This week we have been lucky to have some students from Thailand visit us.  They came to our class and showed us how to do their kind of writing.  They wrote our names and we tried to copy it.  They had to have an interpreter to help them with understanding our language.  They could understand a little bit of English.  It was fun having them.  They taught us things we might not otherwise get to see.
