Rooms 1 and 2 have been experimenting with toys, old and new. They have been playing outside games, as well as inside ones. Room 1 and 2 had puzzles to solve, a fire station to play with including some trucks, barbie dolls and cars, My Little Pony figures and a mat with cars and a telephone box. They also have wooden trucks, trailers and cars, water games, sandpit shovels and equipment, duplo blocks, drawing to do, balls to play with, alphabet pieces to put together and they had lots of fun while doing it! Room 1 and 2 would greatly appreciate it if you could please donate toys to them to experiment with if you are cleaning out stuff, become too old for your toys or simply just want to see kids have fun with toys old and new!

When we visited Room 6 (our newest and youngest class) they had done some spring bouquets of flowers, cats and crowns. They had also created some bubbles and had written some wishy washy muddy animal poems.

All around their classroom was jellyfish art with confetti strings on it. They also coloured in a J to go with the jellyfish because this is one of the letters that they have been learning.

For Maths they made some magnificent monsters with circles and rectangles. They had drawn some monsters from the story ‘Lost’. For Maths and Art they had also found out each other's favourite ice-cream flavour.

Ms.T (Room 14’s wonderful teacher) was making some stick figures to show the class for their art lesson today. In writing they drew and wrote about their shoes. For Matariki they made star constellations, which they also wrote about. For Maths, Room 14 have been using Numicon to help them understand the value of the numbers 0-20. They have also been learning to use clocks and read the time. In Art they did some sand art and Anzac pictures that were pretty cool.

The class has also been learning about the difference between sharks and dolphins using venn diagrams.

Room 3 is a friendly environment where students can learn through play and have a positive learning experience.

At the beginning of the year, Room 9 made a treaty to make their classroom safe, friendly and kind. So when new people come in they know the expectations in the class. Room 9 read a book about a giraffe that can’t dance and they made giraffe pictures. They also made 3D cubes with Mrs Armstrong, then they wrote their initials in the 3D cubes. During our visit the class were making origami kowhai flowers out of paper. Room 9 is also one of the few classes to win best class in the library this year - well done!
