Across the school we have been looking at Matariki. Here are some examples of what our awesome classes have been doing.

Retell writing By Krishdeep Room 3/4

Tamarereti and the Canoe.
Once upon a time a big Taniwha was going to eat the men. When it was morning it felt dark like night. Tamarereti got up. He was hungry so he decided to go fishing. He caught 3 fish. The King of the Wind didn’t push his canoe so he slept in it. When it was morning the King of the Wind pushed his canoe to an island. Tamarereti was hungry again so he decided to go back home. He climbed up to the top of the island. He saw golden rocks and he threw them into the sky. He forgot to ask the God of the Sky. He said “Oh oh!” He is going to smack him and growl so he got back home. He didn’t get growled. The God of the Sky said “ Ka pai! You make my sky beautiful.”

I am happy that there are still schools that operate despite the hardships that they are facing. It is not easy to teach in such extreme conditions, but I am happy that you are continuing to do it. It is going to take a lot more patience for you to continue this, and for that, I thank you. I hope that you enjoy the ride, you are really helping a lot of people by doing this. I hope to see more from your school in the future.

The park is located in San Francisco County along the southeast portion of the peninsula.
