Last week it was Tongan Language Week. Room 14 enjoyed practicing and learning simple Tongan Language greetings.
Saloni said they are preparing for the Funky Junk parade in week 9 so started making recycled drums using old tyre tubes and tins. They painted the drums in their house colours.

They also made a Kiekie which is a Tongan dress, and ornamental girdle around the waist. They are mainly worn at casual occasions. It is worn as a sign of respect. They have made their own house colour kiekie to represent their respect for their house colour and for the wearable arts in Week 9. They are all made with recycled materials.

Avery made his out of green fabric as he is in Macmillan House, but he also wanted to include Stewart and Gledstanes as well.
They have all had a lot of fun and they hope they do it next year.
