Maori Language Week 2020

9/24/2020

There were lots of activities taking place across all classrooms last week in celebration of Te Wiki o te Reo Maori. Here is a selection!

Rooms 26 and 27 have been creating Maori chatterboxes. In Room 21 they drew their dream houses and labelled the rooms Te Reo, as well as writing Maori versions of myths and legends from around the world. Room 18 created Maori patterns and Room 17 did some cool Maori bookmarks.

Room 25 made some delicious hangi with Rooms 23 and 24. In Room 24 the boys made a game and the girls made pois - we had a hard time taking the photo of the girls with their pois! Room 23 made amazing Maori mountains.

Room 13 made a puzzle game where you get a picture of a stationery and put its Maori name beside it. Room 11 coloured some Maori suns. Room 9 and Room 2 drew and coloured some magnificent taniwha. Room 4 made pretty cool hanging moons and Room 1 made some clay spirals.
