WBOP World Rippa Rugby Tournament

6/11/2018

On Wednesday 23rd of May we went to the Rippa Rugby World Cup. There was a group of 20 children that had been split into 2 teams both made up of 5 girls and 5 boys. One team was year 5-6 the other 3-4. The 3-4 team was coached by Michael Podbury and 5-6 team was coached by Jayne Harray.

The day was wet and cold and had to be shortened so all they played was the 3 pool games. The 3-4s played very well and won all three games. The 5-6 team tried their hardest but only won their last game. The 3-4s are going on to the championship round where the top 8 teams play off for a winner in Paengaroa on Wednesday 13th June.

The 5-6 team was made up of:  Fletcher, Jack, Ben, Luke, Edward, Meghan, Coby, Korah, Ella-rose and Janaea. The 3-4 team was: Cameron, Ty, Josh, Broedy, Leo, Savannah, Amiyah and Hannah.
We played Omanu school, Gate Pa and Welcome Bay school. Since it was the ripp rugby World Cup we were Italy. Good luck to the Year 3 and 4 students for the BOP Rippa World Cup .
